Glass jar with butter cookies |
Working with the dairy industry I am using BUTTER for my cookies, there is nothing like butter to give great taste in (butter) cookies !!!
As it is very easy to change the shape disk in this pastry press, I tested various of those. If the butter cookie dough is too cold, it is more or less impossible to press the dough out through the disk. On the other hand, if the dough is too warm, it is more or less impossible to divide the dough from the out pressed shape.
Also I finding it quiet tricky to get the cookie dough to stick to the baking paper after the pressing process, whereas the dough stick very good to my kitchen table. So here I need to work much more to get the hang of using this pastry press. However, I really like the many different shapes, which you can create using this pastry press.
Butter cookie with lemon:
- 300 g (cake) flour
- 100 icing sugar
- 1 egg
- 200 g butter - with ambient temperature
- 1 teaspoon vanilla sugar
- zest of 1 organic lemon
- Heat the (conventional) oven to 200'C.
- Add all the ingredients into a bowl, kneaded them together in homogeneous mass.
- Shape the dough in smaller rolls.
- Fill a roll of cookie dough into the pastry press.
- Place the selected shape disk in the ring and screw the pastry press together.
- Press the dough onto a baking tray covered with baking paper.
- Bake the cookies at 200'C for 8-10 minutes.
- Cool down the cookies after baking, before filling the glass jar with your cookie creations.
