Christmas Calendar 2020 Day 2 - almond cakes with hazel nuts

 

To start off the Christmas baking I tried to bake these almond cakes with hazel nuts as topping froma recipe, which Ihad found in weekly magazine. However, I did not end up was worth to eat, the cakes was dry as sand ! Perhaps you can figure out, what is wrong in this recipe ?

Almond cakes with hazel nuts:- 15-25 small cakes

  • 100 g butter - soft
  • ½ dl sugar
  • 2 dl almond flour
  • 2 tablespoons potato flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • Nutella for topping
  • Hazel nuts for topping.
  1. Heat up the oven to 200'C.
  2. Whip the butter and sugar white, until the sugar is dissolved.
  3. Add in the almond flour, potato flor and baking powder, and stir until the mass is homogenous.
  4. Divide the cake dough into 15-25 small portions, which is placed in small muffin forms.
  5. Place a small amount of Nutella on top, followed by putting a hazel nut on the top of the Nutella.
  6. Bake the cakes at 200'C for 15-20 minutes.
  7. Cold down, bwfore placing them in an air-tight container.
